Are you spending many long hours developing your new business? Do you take your gym gear to work with the intention of training during your lunch break but instead end up having your lunch at 3 pm in the comfort of your personal desk chair? Have you been assigned the coaching role at your kids sporting team only to have so far missed every training session this season due to the infamous ‘deadline’ for ‘that’ report? Do you regret not spending more time with your partner (not your business partner but the one you kiss) and your family?
Do any of these scenarios or the similar resonate with you?
Most of your friends and peers might tell you to “slow down” or offer you some of the standard and typical well meaning advice like “you don’t take the money to the grave”. You know the free life coaching that i’m talking about, the one that you get whether you ask for it or not….. The one that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy on the insides and might even have you believing that you are going to throw ‘it’ all away and give more attention the “the important things in life”.
You might also be the the giver of the free advice.
Do you feel angry, frustrated, resentful, stressed, anxious or annoyed because you are spending too much time at the office? Does guilt follow you around like an Italian man’s eye’s follow a gorgeous woman when she walks past him in her sexy high heels that match her even sexier “f*%k you” facial expression? Do you beat yourself up whenever you think about the amount of time you are away from the kids?
I’m here to offer you some other bit of FREE advice. It will take you only a few minutes to complete (depending on how busy you are, you might even like to do more than my recommendation).
Grab a piece of paper and a pen:
Write down 20 benefits to your kids, 20 to your partner & 20 to your fitness, that you are spending long hours at work. That’s right. 20 BENEFITS/ADVANTAGES to each of those examples listed above, that you have been dedicating much of your time to your career. If 20 is not enough then keep writing until you feel a shift inside you that can’t be denied. You should feel complete love and gratitude for yourself and your work and all the negative emotions should evaporate into the quantum field of life and most likely to never return to crash the love party you host within you.
Even a simple exercise like this can just shift an imbalanced mind into a more calm and peaceful state in the matter of minutes.
Of course at first glance you might think this is impossible and “there aren’t any benefits to my children when I work too much”, but I encourage you to look deeper to find the truth. Nothing you are doing is a mistake, and everything you have done has been your own creation in which you did for you and your family. When we can wake up to the hidden order of our lives and see the perfection in our current situation we bring equilibrium to our conscious minds. From this balance we can move forward with greater purpose and enthusiasm and from this place anything is possible.
Anytime you think that something should be different…… Find how that perceived “better” result or more positive situation would be of DETRIMENT to you and your family. If your mind is ‘out of whack’, bring it back into balance A.S.A.P, and don’t allow yourself to be hijacked by the miss-perception that you are doing something wrong.
All there is is LOVE in this world but at times you just need to sift through all the b.s to find it. Keep looking until it (love) smacks you in the face. If you can’t find it, give me a call and i’ll give you directions (that won’t be FREE).
